Hi gang.

I need to tell you this. There are a lot of ducks in our neighborhood. The reason is because a neighbor of mine has been feeding them bread non stop pretty much every day. The thing that's really bothering my family and I is that those ducks are chasing the humming birds away. I don't know if it would do much good if we complained to our neighbor about the ducks. Another thing about them is that they can dirty the environment and that's not good.

Is the neighbor aware that the ducks are scaring the hummingbirds away and that y'all don't want that? Maybe you or someone else who is annoyed with this can have a talk with your neighbor about it. you can tell them that their feeding the ducks is scaring the hummingbirds off and that you don't like, that the ducks are doing their business on your lawn, or something like that. If you've talked to them several times, if it's a big issue to most of the neighborhood, y'all should all talk to the neighbor. If the neighbor won't respect that, file a complaint if y'all's talking to them doesn't work. Have they been living their longer than you have? Or did they move in recently. because if they've been doing this for some time before y'all lived there and you just find it annoying, I hate to say it, but if it's not harming anyone or a threat to anyone's safety, you might just have to deal with that. you could still talk to them, but in my opinion, if they've been doing that before y'all got there, you could've considered that before moving in. If they've just moved in, or just started doing that recently, then you should talk to them about what effect it is having on your home, the neighborhood, etc. And especially if others don't agree with it, just the talking to them might work. But if it's a serious problem, say to health or there are just too many ducks flying around everywhere, you and other neighbors can probably officially file a complaint on it.

Well I don't know. I mean I understand that it is sad that they chase the other birds away, but, ... I mean what can you do? What can we do? I don't know what advice I should give you, I don#t think there is anything to do dabout it.

get the game keepers in when it gets into shooting season. nothing like the taste of rosted duck. although you might have to draw them off on to a field or grassland far away from the public depending on the laws of your country. in the UK you cannot fire a shotgun with in 50 yards of the public hiway.
